A returning feature to FIFA 13 is the Virtual Pro mode, in which you can create a player and increase his skills. You can also use this Virtual Pro to unlock content and features, some are specifically for your pro to use, some are features you can use throughout FIFA 13, such as new celebrations or boots.

In FIFA 13, you are given the option of having full, manual control over your passes and shots. This is useful because unlike the default assisted settings, the computer has no effect on where your passes and shots go and how much power they will have. These settings aren't just manual and assisted, you also have the option of semi-assisted settings. However, I recommend that you pick one or the other.

In FIFA 13, you may notice that EA have made it significantly more difficult to dribble through defenses consistently. This is because they've made skill moves a lot tougher to pull off, so don't expect to get past Pique with a nice Roulette every time. However, this is not to say that dribbling and skill moves have been made useless. You should still find opportunities to make the most of your dribbling skills. Read on to learn how!

Much like its predecessors, FIFA 13 is all about knowing when to pass and when to dribble. As it is significantly tougher to go on winding runs that weave through your opponent's defense, you'll have to rely on passing even more in FIFA 13, making it one of the most important skills in your arsenal.

Corners are a bit of a mixed bag in FIFA 13. There is no definite way to score them and it is sometimes a bit of luck. However, there are certain factors that you can control to increase the likelihood that one of your targets will get a head on your cross and score. If you take the corner well by following the rules below, FIFA 13 favors big forwards who can head the ball in for a goal, so pay attention

Penalty Kicks provide a scoring chance with a very high rate of success. Of course, it is possible that the keeper will guess the right way and save your shot, but the chance that you will beat the keeper is much higher. The FIFA 11 version of the series featured an entirely new penalty kick system in which aiming is more precise and less computer-assisted. This tutorial will go more in depth on aiming and other techniques below. This system is continued in FIFA 13.

FIFA 13, like earlier versions of FIFA, involves a lot of strategic planning if you want to win consistently. A lot of people just play with the default formations and leave them how they are. While there's nothing necessarily wrong with this, it is a far better idea to focus on which formations will best complement your playing style in FIFA 13 and decide accordingly.

Below is a table of all the game controls in FIFA 13 for the Xbox and Playstation. Starting in FIFA 12, EA decided not to include an informational packet with each copy of the game, so some players asked us to make our own version for reference. The The Premier FIFA 13 Guide has a HUGE section on controls - not only does it teach you how to execute these moves, you can also see extra tips regarding each control.
