With FIFA 18 set to release on September 29, 2017, EA has actually kept rather quiet about the new features that will be in the game. In past FIFA releases, EA usually focuses a large amount of promotional content on the new features players can expect in the new game, but little has been released about FIFA 18. However, at FIFA Encyclopedia we have done a lot of research on FIFA 18 and are happy to report that there appear to be some significant new features that will change FIFA's gameplay. In this article we will focus on the top 6 important new features we have found that will actually impact gameplay. We will also discuss some new features EA has talked about that won't necessarily affect gameplay, but will add to the new experience in FIFA 18.

In FIFA 18, EA SPORTS has drastically revamped the crossing system, providing you with more control over your crosses and making them a better scoring opportunity. In past versions of FIFA, crosses have been simple lobbed passes from the sidelines, but in recent versions you could control the style and height of the cross -- you could do a regular cross, a low driven cross, or a mid-height slightly powerful cross that might cause havoc in the box.

Two on One
Mastering the two on one offensive is not all that difficult, but many people still manage to mess these up. They are basically a gift of a goal if you know what to do.

Define your Mentality

It may sound silly, but one of the most helpful things you can do to improve your win-loss ratio is to simply go into games with a premeditated game mentality. This means you need to decide whether you’re going to sit back and defend and hope you might get a goal or two for the win, or if you’re just going to go for all out attack and hope whatever comes your way does not end up in the back of the net.

In FIFA 15, the slow pace of the game makes particular skill moves especially effective in getting you past your opponent. It’s unrealistic to think you can simply learn how and when to use every possible skill move in the game, or even that you will want to use every move. Not every move is all that effective, and later in the tutorial I will list some of the most effective and useful skill moves for you to master. The next matter of business though is developing an adequate strategy of getting used to skill moves and understanding when you should use them.

Creating chances with set pieces is an often overlooked method of scoring goals in FIFA 15. However, these are often crucial moments for your team to get ahead, regardless of the difference in skill between you and your opponent. No matter how good you are, it can be incredibly difficult to defend against a well placed corner or free kick into the box.

Crossing has always been one of the easiest ways to score in FIFA. Next to corners, it is the hardest thing to defend well in FIFA. If you do everything right, your opponent can be simply helpless in defending your crosses.

Creating shots is an integral part of being successful at FIFA 15. In FIFA 15, it is much easier to put away mid to long distance shots than in previous versions of FIFA. I’m not talking about finishing breakaways or general 1v1s, but just deciding to shoot when the alternatives are dribbling or trying to pass someone through. Sometimes, it’s just better to go with the shot when you have a chance, but the difficulty is actually making those shots.

Passing is undoubtedly the most important skill to master if you wish to win more often in FIFA. Furthermore, passing well enough to maintain possession both for a large amount of time and with an attacking purpose is a level of prowess you must reach in order to be a more competitive player -- whether when playing with your friends or in competitive matches online.

Player career mode allows you to control a Virtual Pro as he moves forward in his career. You can start your Pro in a big team where he will improve to the level of the team, or you could start him in a lesser ranking team that your Pro could carry to new heights. The beauty of Career Mode is that you can attempt to mimic any career you've seen in football history, or simply create your own story.

FIFA has had one of the best video game soundtracks for many years now, and FIFA 15's soundtrack is among the best of them. EA has focused on finding great bands from all over the world to compile a diverse group including artists like Milky Chance (Germany), Santé Les Amis (Brazil), and Kasabian (England). Here is a list of all songs in the FIFA 15 soundtrack.
